HIS EXCELLENCY, AMBASSADOR SERGE MOMBOULI

Born in Pointe Noire ( Republic of Congo), in 1959, and son of a Congolese Diplomat and statesman, Mr. Serge Mombouli was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Congo to the United States of America on July 31, 2001. An expert in corporate law and business negotiations, Ambassador Mombouli previously served as Congo’s Chargé d’Affaires to the United States of America from 1997-2001. For over a decade, he has worked extensively with the private sector and the U.S government to strengthen US-Congo diplomatic relations in areas of governance, international development and foreign investment.

Before holding this position, Ambassador Mombouli had long been active in the private sector. He began his career at Air Afrique in the corporate sales department in Paris, France. For many years, he served as Vice-President of A.W.E Group and from 1995 to 1997, he was Vice-President for International Operations and Project Development at Transworld Consortium Corporation in Houston, Texas. Ambassador Serge Mombouli obtained his degree in Corporate Law from the National Conservatory of Arts and Professions in Paris, France.

From May 28, 2011 to June 03, 2011, Ambassador Serge Mombouli took an executive education course in Innovation for Economic Development at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This program aims to gather politicians, diplomats, financial experts, college professors, industrialists and members of civil society to study the catalyzing role of science, technology and innovation in the process of development. He is a devoted husband and father of six children.

On August 31st, 2015, H.E Serge became the Dean of the African Diplomatic Corps to the United States of America.
